Rannsóknarnefnd flugslysa Aircraft Accident Investigation Board
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) is in charge of aircraft accidents, aircraft incidents and air traffic incidents investigations in Iceland. The jurisdiction of the AAIB is the Icelandic territory, as well as the control area serviced by Iceland with respect to air traffic incidents.

Flugmálastjórn Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration
The Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration carries out civil aviation regulatory tasks and safety inspections. The Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration was founded in 1945, when Parliament passed law no. 24/1945 on „airports and landing strips for aircraft" The laws also required “a special management board for aviation” and the office of Director General of Aviation.

Siglingastofnun Icelandic Maritime Administration
The Icelandic Maritime Administration, with a staff of around 65, handles numerous activities in the field of maritime administration and supervision, such as operation of lighthouses and navigational systems, vessel registration and supervision of ship surveys, manning and certification. The IMA also conducts research into ship stability and ship and harbour security and harbour development, coastal changes and coastal protection.

Flugstoðir ISAVIA
ISAVIA holds the responsibility for the provision of air navigation services and airport operations. ISAVIA is completely state-owned and its shares administered by the Minister of Transportation. Services are provided by two divisions, the Airport and Navigation Systems Division responsible for the operation of airports and navigation systems and the Air Traffic Management Division, responsible for the air traffic control services.

Keflavik Airport Ltd is a private limited company with 100 percent government ownership. Keflavik International Airport (KEF) features modern passenger and commercial facilities with extensive capacity on the North Atlantic and polar routes linking Europe and Asia with North America. The airport serves the capital city of Iceland, Reykjavik, and is an international hub of major importance for scheduled operations and technical stops.

Póst- og fjarskiptastofnun Post and Telecom Administration
The Post and Telecom Administration in Iceland is an independent body under the ultimate direction of the Minister of Communications. Responsibility for the daily activities of the Administration lies with the Director who is appointed by the Minister of Communications. The Administration advises the Minister on matters relating to posts and telecommunications.

Rannsóknarnefnd umferðarslysa Road Accident Analysis Group
Road Accident Investigation Group. Law no. 24/2005, issued by the Minister of Transport outline the operational framework of the Road Accident Investigation Group. The group is interdisciplinary, with a lawyer, a physician with expertise in Accident and Emergency Medicine, and an engineer with expertise in road construction.
